Who is a Reseller

A reseller is someone whose business it is to buy products wholesale and resell them. If you are buying our products and are the intended user, you are not a reseller, even if you fit in one of the categories below. Examples of resellers to us are:

- brokers

What is a “back plate”?

Backplates are what holds your nameplate to the wall. they allow you to maintain consistency throughout your office by making sure that when a new staff member is hired the nameplate stays in the same position. You would remove the nameplate leaving the backplate on the wall and install the new one.

What type of mounting method should I choose?

Whenever possible we recommend a fixed mounting method. This means something your staff can’t move. We know this isn't always possible but we have seen it time and time again. You will order a large quantity of nameplates for your office. Get them installed and looking fantastic only to have them moved all around, inserts hanging out and just a mess a couple of months later.

Double Sided Tape

For almost any smooth surface our regular double sided tape works well. In common areas where the public has access we recommend using 3M VHB double sided tape for its super strong hold.

Velcro

Velcro is usually only used on fabric workstation dividers and you would only get the hook side of the Velcro that will grip the fabric. It's best to order a sample to test or if you have Velcro in you office see if the hook side grips the fabric.

Aluminum clips

We have a selection of clips the will hook onto workstation dividers for a nice clean look when tape or Velcro aren’t an option. This method works well in that they only fit one way so it is easier to keep a consistent look.

Magnet

Again an excellent option when you have metal(not aluminum) cabinets or divider trim that you would like to use for your nameplates. While these are easier to install they do have a negative in that your staff can move them around so what started out as a nice clean and consistent look on day one turns into a visual mess with nameplates sitting, higher, lower or tilted at odd angles on day 120.

Acrylic clips

These are mounting clips that hang over the top of office dividers. See video

VHB double sided tape

Used when a really strong installation is required. This tape is used for office directories and also the back of cut letters. If name plates are being adhered to fabric dividers this can also be used.

Pins

We hate pins. It's not a phobia or anything and we know there are circumstances where they are necessary (but we can't think of any). Why do you sell them you ask? Some of our clients ask for them. What more can I say. Okay we can say that we hate them because they are moveable so your staff can move them, and when they do they poke all sorts of not so pretty holes in your expensive office dividers.

Can I do my own installation?

For the most part the answer is yes. We have instructional videos for most of our products and our products are manufactured to make installation easier. Things like our pin mounted letters and logos are probably better done by a professional unless you have facilities staff that are comfortable with drilling in your walls. The best thing to do is have a look in our video section for the installation video on the product you are interested in and determine if this is something you can do. We can also source installation companies for you.

What is the set screw for?

Set screws lock the faceplate to the backplate so it can't be moved accidentally (if mounted to a door and the door slams) or intentionally by staff.

Do I need a vinyl backup?

Vinyl backups are used when you are installing nameplates on glass and you can see the sign from the back. The vinyl backup is installed to the glass first and then the sign so you don’t see the mounting tape when you are sitting at your desk or meeting table.

What if my name is too long?

You will notice that if your name is too long the font will get smaller as you type, which can take you away from building standards. Place the order anyways and our staff will make the standard correction and send you a proof before proceeding with your order.

Can I order custom sizes?

Yes and no. ☺ We are always happy to accommodate you if the order is large (over 100 pieces). Our purpose is to keep it simple while still offering you enough choices to create your own unique look so send your requests and we will be happy to discuss them with you.

Can I pick my order up?

No. ☺ simple eh.

Can I have a custom colour?

Yes and no. yes if you need a large quantity (over 100 units) and no if it is an individual item. Again just reach out to us and let us know what you are thinking and we will let you know what we can offer.

Where are your products made?

The vast majority of our products are fabricated in North America. All of our metal and plastic products are manufactured in Canada and the United States. We strive to “buy local” and to us that means North America.
